Protection from good/evil is a 1st level spell that gives you immunity for up to 10 mins with concentration vs aberrations, celestials, elementals, fey, fiends and undead. so thats pretty much everything that would likely charm you except for dragons and people. At first level, i would keep compelled duel and change protection from evil and good to shield of faith. why? both spells fit the theme and are on cleric’s spell list so no change power wise, but shield of faith is always useful, while protection from evil and good is situational.

加加減減 After 9 levels, i just discovered protection from evil and good for my pally. other than the casting time is their any benefit to shield of faith if you know you'll be fighting fiends, undead etc.?. Is there some reason the players wouldn't cast protection from evil and good on themselves before going up against a demon? that seems like the logical thing to do. Portfolio: war, protection, elves, sword play, archery, freedom. domains: good, archery, elf, war, protection, liberation. cleric training: priests of camelus all spring from elven blood or fey blood (for a human the fey heritage feat would be required to take levels in cleric of camelus). Complete divine? complete champion? deities and demigods? defenders of the faith? living greyhawk gazeteer? well, i checked complete divine and complete champion. divine doesn't seem to have anything. champion does have some neat stuff in it (even some "favored oaths"), but i don't see any prayers. i may have my old copy of defenders of the faith somewhere, but i'm gonna have to dig it up.
