Had been researching on what was best to use to seal trailer decking .i kept coming across how well used motor oil and diesel mixture works for preserving any wood against the elements. i ended up using a 50/50 mixture of each and it worked very well. it sucked into the wood completely leaving. Upon further inspection, the main oil seal on the rear of the engine literally fell out! i intend to put it back together with a new seal and check compression and crank case pressure.

Hello. i had a oil seal blow out. i tried installing a new one, but it leaked oil. so i pulled my engine out of the frame so i could get to it better. any special instructions on installing oil seals? any lubricant or adhesive, sealant on the outside once installed. just want to do it right. I am having trouble finding an oil leak. i found oil all over the back of my engine, i saw oil dripping from the rear oil seal where the pto shaft comes out so i replaced it, now i think that was just residual oil. then i saw a steady drip coming from the oil cooler hose, so i replaced both. Hi, i really need some help! my fh721v 25hp kawasaki had an electrical issue that i was working on. while diagnosing the issue, i had to take the flywheel off. once i took it off, i could tell there was a slight oil leak coming from the top oil seal. after replacing the seal twice in the past. The most common oil leak on kawasaki engines is the breather gasket. have a 17hp kawi leaking similar to what you described and that was the culprit. have you removed the engine cover to look at the cooling fins, etc. if this is, indeed, your problem the repair requires removal of the flywheel or so my dealer states.

Just a fyi. for a oil leak issue with older 25hp kaw engines. you have two items. the upper crank oil seal. which possibly could be caused by a bad upper crank bearing. (bad news) or the oil breather plate next to the seal. I have a 2000 exmark lazer hp with a 23 hp kawasaki engine. i have been attempting to pin point an engine oil leak for approximately two months now. i have checked the oil filter oring, dipstick tube oring, crank seal, drain plug etc. its a very slow leak and appears to concentrate on the frame. Would this be caused by the top oil seal? the wet look on the seal if from penetrating oil i used to get the fly wheel off, or is this normal for extended use?. Top crank seal, breather gasket, both valve covers (go ahead and adjust valves while you're there), oil cooler seal (behind oil filter), dipstick seal, oil drain, and lower crankcase seal. yea it's alot, but you're gonna be into it with mostly a guess of where the leak is, and you're only probably looking at $40 worth of seals.
