The initiative started in june 2023 and is framed around systems knowing “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” since its founding, it has been convening leaders, partners, affiliates and volunteers throughout the state to create positive change for utah women and girls.

Each year thousands of utah women and girls are victims of domestic violence. this is why a bolder way forward’s domestic violence spoke is focused on significantly decreasing the occurrence of domestic violence and substantially increasing resources and support for survivors in utah. The framework is designed to advance the well being and success of women and girls in utah by addressing disparities in education, the workplace, health, safety and security, and community engagement (which includes political representation). The holistic perspective, with a focus on relationships and collaboration, suggests a comprehensive strategy to address the diverse challenges and opportunities faced by women and girls of utah.

It is time for utah to embrace a bolder way forward (bwf). to do this we need to utilize systems thinking, which is that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” in utah, we have been working hard on related efforts using the “parts” strategy, but not fully moving together as a system. This event is the formal launch of utah’s “a bolder way forward” (bwf), which focuses on making utah a place where more girls and women can thrive in any setting (e.g., home, workplace, congregation, and community). We are proud to be a local branch of a bolder way forward, a statewide initiative working to create systemic change for women, children, and families. On 11.19.24 the nsl city council passed a resolution supporting the mission of the statewide initiative of "a bolder way forward" to help more women and girls thrive in the state of utah.
