Advancing Food Waste Reduction In The Hospitality Sector | IFWC - WRAP EU This project, carried out nationally from may 2024 to the end of 2025, will be managed by the ifwc in partnership with accor and best western hotels & resorts. it will highlight the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to step up the fight against food waste. Wrap eu, formed through the amalgamation of the ifwc and wrap, will focus initially on tackling food waste across the hospitality and food service sector and more widely along the value chain. the organization will then expand to focus on sustainable fashion and plastic pollution.

Wwf's aim is to accelerate food waste reduction across these sectors globally through pre competitive collaboration, food waste measurement and reporting standardization, and policy advocacy on food waste. The international food waste coalition (ifwc) is a not for profit organisation, set up to foster collaboration and coordinate action to reduce food loss and waste across europe’s hospitality and food service sector. The ifwc is pleased to announce the publication of its 2024 report, which reveals that contract catering companies involved in our program have collectively reduced food waste by 25% over the past five years, putting us halfway to our goal of cutting food waste by 50%. It demonstrates how reducing food waste in hotels doesn’t have to be complicated, and highlights five types of action for achieving successful reduction programmes.
