The focus of the awl journal, the longest running, continuous journal on women's leadership issues, is to publish peer reviewed quantitative and qualitative research, literature critiques, and position papers related to women's leadership issues or gender equity in national and international contexts.

Women face a myriad of obstacles in the workplace that serve to disproportionately hold them back from growth and advancement, especially when it comes to leadership. While the program maintains a primary focus on women’s leadership and the specific challenges and opportunities women face in their careers, we welcome participants of all genders in both the rising leaders and senior leaders tracks.
