Louise Mandumbwa (@louise_mandumbwa) • Instagram Photos And Videos An immigrant artist her works revisit sites of both familial and diasporic history to and appends them with affect and the anecdotal. louise holds an mfa in painting and printmaking from yale university as well as a bfa in painting from the university of central arkansas. Drawing from transcribed conversations, familial archives, and her own recollections of the vibrant, changing cities she’s called home, louise contends with the gaps in knowledge that are often part of a diasporic experience by engaging a constellations of epistemologies. Artist louise mandumbwa ‘s family has been relocating for generations across africa, and the painter and printmaker from botswana has herself been moving across the united states for a decade in pursuit of her art that explores the meaning of home. Louise mandumbwa's paintings celebrate the beauty and tenacity of everyday people creating intimate snapshots through which ideas of individual identity, and the human condition are explored.
