Daily Painting | Headlands - Emily Weil Art After a glorious banding day last week, the setting sun was hitting the hills and the wwii vintage buildings just right so i stopped to snap a photo of the scene to paint. Here’s another marin headlands wildflower from a recent hike (i’m wondering if my series of small flower paintings would be a good grouping together, framed on a wall?).

Daily Painting | Rifle Hut - Emily Weil Art The marin headlands (just north of san francisco) holds many beautiful sights — hawks, coyotes, bobcats, foxes. also wonderful old buildings dating back to wwii. i pulled off to the side to photograph this and its interesting shadows. after i got back in the car, 2 ravens flew down to the dirt road that ran up to this spot. The art business has pretty much kicked my butt, and i’m stepping back from the grind of trying to be seen and to sell my work. it’s disheartening, the disrespect i’ve encountered in the last few years from galleries and other professional art entities. This one also has ink, watercolor, and acrylic paint. it’s an abstract smorgasbord. using all these different media (mediums?) is great fun, and takes me out of my thinking brain and deep into my instincts, intuition and emotions; i let the artwork guide me, and it tells me what it wants.
