Developer Update - November 14 2024 - Dev Updates - VRChat Ask Forum Vrchat developer updates, or "dev updates" are public announcements directed to vrchat users by the vrchat team, acknowledging information on upcoming features or changes, product releases, current and future events or partnerships, or addressing community feedback. These limits have been in place for new avatars and updates to existing avatars for some time. however, starting tomorrow (november 1st, 2024), we will enable server side security checks that will prevent avatars that exceed this limit from loading. they will be marked as “security checks failed.”. In about three months – on november 3, 2025 – sdk2 uploads will be switched off. after that date, you won’t be able to upload, tweak, or update sdk2 avatars or worlds. the servers will reject any sdk2 uploads.
