DNAT Problem - Discussions - Sophos Firewall - Sophos Community - Connect, Learn, And Stay Secure Hi, i've got a /56 ipv6 range from my provider and implemented that range in my local network. first i had to config snat on the firewall for ipv6 so i could access internet over ipv6, that's working fine now. but i have problems accessing internal websites from the outside to inside. Kinda one of the main goals for ipv6 to not have to nat behind a public address. i am able to successfully get web traffic to flow when i create a nat with a masq, however i can't get it to flow from it's original ipv6 address.

DNAT Problem - Discussions - Sophos Firewall - Sophos Community - Connect, Learn, And Stay Secure Unusual to only get an external ipv6, most isps provide both. you do a dnat to translate from the external interface to the internal face changing to your camera's ip4 address. I am looking for some clarification around firewall and nat rule precedence. it was my understanding that firewall rules took precedence over nat rules. if that is the case, i am confused on what my newly added nat rules are indicating. i have internal dns servers and regular network devices. Here's some information i've gathered on ipv6 and why things work as they do on the sophos firewall. i've been doing a bit of digging, and sophos firewall uses busybox under the hood for a lot of its commands. In the dnat rule summary, the outbound traffic from the internal server rustsrv uses the primary ip address instead of the secondary one. could this be the problem?.

I would like to configure my sophos firewall with ipv6 wan and lan. my isp has provided me with the addresses for this, and i have had a go at getting this to work but with no luck so wondering if someone can help me please. The firewall is also using internal dns server on the clients network and resolves as expected. dnat rule show if you hover over the fqdn the ip of the server. (see below) the inbound rules are all knocking as expected and the counters increase but the no response from the server. I use sophos dns protection, which only provides ipv4 addresses, though these addresses evidently accept and answer ipv6 queries (i.e. aaaa records, etc). how would i set up the firewall to handle this for ipv6 clients?. The sophos firewall webadmin interface is accessible over ipv6, so you don’t need to use ipv4 to manage your firewalls. although you could technically access your sophos firewall over the internet using global unicast addresses (gua), i recommend using a vpn instead.
