Imgur API — Public APIs
Imgur API — Public APIs I will stay with flickr regardless of inflationary price adjustments, although i seriously doubt it will be $100 by the end of 2024. no other site on the internet today comes close to matching what flickr provides. unlimited storage of original high res photos. ad free browsing both for you and for the people browsing your photostream. ownership that has publicly stated a vision of keeping. Flickr commons is still an invaluable resource for finding license free/creative commons photography for art and research purposes. community is super quiet now though.
Flickr API — Public APIs
Flickr API — Public APIs Flickr takes photography more seriously than instagram; it doesn’t lossily recompress your photos to save storage, it has groups and albums, and it is open from the web. Flickr, if you're listening, you're having a real signal to noise problem lately, and it's becoming more severe with every passing day. yes there's a lot of below average photography on the site, but it's becoming increasingly hard to sort the good photography from the better than average midjourney or stable diffusion type content. I use flickr for several purposes all worth the effort for me: sharing my work for others to see creating ideas/albums that can only exist online backing up anything that has become a jpeg curating others work into collections, to scratch my own creative itch i curate my public work heavily, even though few see the work in the order i intend it. Hi all! i've had a flickr account for years; during lockdown i've discovered photography again. do you think it is still worth getting a pro account? is it value for money? pros and cons? is there anything else better out there? would love to hear your opinion. cheers!.

If storage space is a problem for the owners of flickr, perhaps they could delete the accounts that have abandoned flickr. since i joined in 2004, i've seen people abandon flickr in waves every time some annoying new term of service is introduced. I think that’s one of the things flickr is still good at. it looks decent, you can create galleries to easily showcase certain images together, and you can post links to your photos pretty much anywhere so you can still share things on facebook, reddit, etc. Flickr has always catered to serious photographers and is a far, far better model. also their explore feature (ig stole that name from them btw) actually rewards the photographer with continuous exposure for months on end, as once you get explored you become part of the 16 day cycle and will always get explored every 16 days for an extended period. The flickr mobile app is far more pleasant to use on ipad than any other photo platform's app.love the keyboard shortcuts i can "like" other people's photos by hitting the f key on the keyboard rather than mousing around for example.
