Flickr FAQs: Finding Your Flickr Community | Flickr Blog Flickr has always catered to serious photographers and is a far, far better model. also their explore feature (ig stole that name from them btw) actually rewards the photographer with continuous exposure for months on end, as once you get explored you become part of the 16 day cycle and will always get explored every 16 days for an extended period. Flickr has great privacy controls for galleries and individual images, so you can control who can see what. they're also not afraid of risque content that's been problematic on other sites. unlimited uploads. i can upload once to flickr then pretty much cross post it wherever else i like on the internet without having to worry about it.

Flickr FAQs: Finding Your Flickr Community | Flickr Blog Flickr would not upload from web interface on my win11 pc since last year. i use capture one so i need to use my pc to post process the photos. the upload time out both on web interface and the pc flickr uploadr. fortunately i have found a solution and i managed to upload 400 photos at high speed last night. the solution is very simple. copy the photos from the pc to an android phone via usb. Store photos in albums. put albums in collections. i've got 15 years of photos stored on flickr. albums are organized by date, and sorted into collections which are years. my local storage mirrors this using folders and subfolders. flickr's biggest strength is in the metadata it lets you use to store alongside each photo. i use this to tag everything about the image, which improves my ability. I will stay with flickr regardless of inflationary price adjustments, although i seriously doubt it will be $100 by the end of 2024. no other site on the internet today comes close to matching what flickr provides. unlimited storage of original high res photos. ad free browsing both for you and for the people browsing your photostream. ownership that has publicly stated a vision of keeping. Flickr commons is still an invaluable resource for finding license free/creative commons photography for art and research purposes. community is super quiet now though.
