I seek to breathe new life into historical photographs from my own collection to portray the emotions and damage of war. the original three inch ambrotypes, tintypes, and daguerreotypes were displayed in idealized, decorative cases, a person’s only likeness ever made. Catamount arts of st. johnsbury is pleased to present ghosts: civil war portraits, by william betcher, in the arts center’s rankin gallery on eastern avenue. the exhibition will run from march 20th through june 4th.
