The panel discussion focuses on what makes a winning life science business concept and how the investment landscape is changing. the speakers emphasize the importance of people in driving the success of life science ventures and highlight the need for innovative, transformative ideas. Over the last decade, the ecosystem has expanded to include a virtual launch lab program for harvard alumni founded ventures across the globe, and a wet lab building for life sciences ventures. The pagliuca harvard life lab is a wet laboratory with co working space for early stage, high potential biotech and life sciences startups founded by harvard students, alumni, faculty, and postdoctoral scholars.

Made possible by a gift from judy (mba ’83) and steve pagliuca (mba ’82), the lab will offer shared space for high potential life sciences and biotech startups that are founded by harvard faculty, alumni, students, and postdoctoral scholars. The pagliuca harvard life lab opens as a home for biotech and life science startups. we believe innovation in the life sciences is critically important to the future of our region from an economic standpoint and equally important to all of our futures in its potential solve complex health problems. The hsci/i lab series also offers attendees an opportunity to learn about the translational and business building resources at hsci and at the i lab, as well as an opportunity to. Helping trauma surgeons control abdominal bleeding, using ai to maximize farmers’ crop yields, and enabling more african small businesses to participate in global trade. these were three of the winning startup initiatives recognized during the harvard president’s innovation challenge awards ceremony.
