Back in the day, northern tool came onto the scene with a few stores, a killer catalog, and lots of good stuff for good prices. then harbor freight started to appear first on the web, then more and more stores and lots of catalogs. so, who do you buy from more, and why?.

Anyone have any experience with the harbor freight brand oil based uv leak detector fluid you use with the hf braun brand uv light? lol uv lights all hf braun brand uv lights and any brand at any store up north are sold out apparently everyone's buying them to search for these things locals. Most everything that hf sells today in the upscale tool lines fails to qualify as suck tools. having said that i don't much care for the hf rivet assortments. much better quality one are available elsewhere. they seemed to be well on their way to distance themselves from their "suck tools".

Harbor freight has given me access to tools i wouldn't have been able to afford before. what tools have you had a good experience with and would. I'm off to menards for these anchors in 1/2bolt x 20thd x 2 deep. anyone know off hand the bolt length needed? would 3 inch or 2 3/4 work? took some measurements, 3 inches is the way to go!. Hf tools like this don't suck especially if you need to remove those plastic push rivet or whatever there called usually four letter words by me, they are definitely pet peeves of .mine. anyways the metal pry type tools make me more civil when removing them anyway or any plastic fastener for.
