Community Cultural Wealth – Community Research Collaborative The concept of community cultural wealth not only challenges dominant narratives and perspectives but also offers a roadmap for creating more inclusive, equitable, and just societies. Yosso's (2006) community cultural wealth model focuses on experiences of people of color, revealing "accumulated assets and resources in the histories and lives of communities of color" (p. 77). Jennifer mann outlines the concept of community cultural wealth and encourages teachers to embrace it in their classrooms. The purpose of this activity is for all participants to comfortably express themselves ysically to other members of the group. this allows participants to offer the group something unique about themselves a snapshot of their cultural prior knowledge of cultural capital, this concept is explained later in the workshop.
