Our Research - Surrey Urban Indigenous Leadership Committee In february 2020, 43 indigenous and non indigenous leaders met over two days to discuss indigenous lived experiences with racism, its impacts, and how to combat it in surrey, bc. The committee will advocate on behalf of all urban indigenous people in surrey, and work collaboratively to implement the surrey urban indigenous social innovation strategy.

Our Research - Surrey Urban Indigenous Leadership Committee It aims to provide opportunities for ambassadors to enact empowerment, connection, and advocacy within surrey’s urban indigenous community. this research project is supported in part by funding from the social sciences and humanities research council. Surrey urban indigenous leadership committee (suilc) is a membership of indigenous and non indigenous organizations that are directly connected to the urban indigenous community in the city of surrey. Simon fraser university and the surrey urban indigenous leadership committee (suilc) have entered into a partnership to promote and support the academic, research and community engagement needs and interests of the region’s growing urban indigenous peoples.
