Hello everyone, i have some oil leaking on the passenger side of the engine up and around the power steering pump area and the oil dipstick. i’m thinking it’s coming from the timing cover.

The timing cover leaks were mostly from the passenger side because of insufficient sealant being applied by the robot. so would you not worry about mild oil seepage on the front driver side of the engine (appears to not be valve cover or cam tower related)?. Two days after i brought it home i noticed what appeared to be an oil leak behind the power steering pump and dirt and grime in the area. brought it to the dealer who cleaned the area and put dye in it and told me to return in a couple weeks. I am learning that timing cover leaks are a big thing in certain toyota and lexus vehicles. i think it's primarily associated with 6 cylinder. have any of you had any experience with this repair? oil is not leaking on the ground yet but i was told to expect it to get to that point.

I had my '07 at my local dealer for an oil change at about 280,000 miles and the new oil change dude noted that i had a timing chain cover leak, and $1,800 would fix it. Today i notice that there seems oil leaking under the power steering pump. when i inspect i just find a drop of oil dripping from the bolt behind the power steering pulley. My wife's 02 corolla d4d recently went for a free health check at our local main dealer's and came out very well apart from a "minor oil leak from the timing chain cover". I have a 2017 highlander and brought it in for oil change and other maintenance at 79,000 miles. i was told i have a leaking timing cover and it is estimated at $4,800 and a week to fix it.
