RAM Issue | MacRumors Forums Basically, i've bought this imac 27" in august 2020, and almost immediately purchased additional ram (16gbx2) on amazon at the time. recently, the imac kept crashing randomly, without any. I have a 2018 intel i7 mini running sonoma 14.4.1 with 32 gigs of ram that i purchased 4 years ago when they had the 2020 refresh. it always ran smoothly enough until a few months ago when it.

Big Sur Ram Issue | MacRumors Forums What do you think guys? could it really be the case that all 4 x 8gb cards i've bought are faulty, do i have the wrong ram or am i simply doing something wrong? i just wanted to see if any of you. Recently i'm getting three repeating sets of beeps with my original set of kingston 2 x 4gb sticks of ram. so i've tested each stick separately in each bay and they work fine. Ram requirements are not necessarily going to grow rapidly. for example, ram requirements effectively shrank by about 50% when apple added ram compression to mavericks in 2013. Nothing on the machine has changed bar the ram. all four slots are populated with identical 1867mhz ddr3 sticks and the system reports show all are operating ok.

If any one is trying to put 12 dimm modules of different sizes into the new mac pro 2019, be aware the guidance on line at many of the tech websites and on apple's mac pro ram support site is incorrect. i was able to confirm this with the applecare team and they plan to put out updated guidance.
