With international women’s day approaching on march 8th, we’re reflecting on the women who have inspired and empowered us to reach our potential and thrive in our personal and professional lives. we asked our thrive community to share with us the stories of women who have inspired them and uplifted them. which of these role models inspires you?.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim: 'I Am Proud To Have African In Me' The ever changing landscape of sports and our world continually inspires me, particularly the tenacity and resilience of women who break barriers every day. Women's history month prompts me to reflect on the remarkable women who have influenced my life – those who have inspired, challenged, and uplifted me. some are well known, while others are everyday heroes; each has left a lasting impression on my perspective. this is a tribute to a few of them. The intention with this article is to highlight some of the extraordinary inspirational women who have changed my life for the better. for that, i want to share a collection of female voices that have impacted me in the past and helped shape my way of life. My mother was the first to spark my passion for sports. we used to watch basketball games together all the time, and we were huge boston celtics fans. it was really that bond that fueled my determination to play the game. and as i reflect… i’m reminded of the many remarkable women who have shaped…. I also owe whatever i am today to great women who have influenced my life and shaped my life, some very close to me, some afar; some very unknown to the world but close to my heart, and some very known and renowned figures inspiring by their life from afar.
