STEM Internship Scheme 2023 The “stem internship scheme” launched by the innovation and technology commission encourages full time students enrolling in stem programmes offered by local universities to gain i&t related work experience during their studies. The scheme provides allowance for undergraduates and postgraduates taking full‑time stem related programmes in designated local universities to enrol in short term internships.

STEM Internship Scheme 2023/24 | College Of Science In the 2020 21 budget, the financial secretary of hksar government has set aside hk$40 million to subsidize undergraduates and postgraduates enrolled in approved stem programs in local universities to participate in stem related internships. Internship duration: internships are available exclusively during the summer term from 2 june 2025 to 30 august 2025. both the starting and ending dates must fall on a workday. Under the scheme, allowance will be provided for both local and non local undergraduates and postgraduates enrolling in short term internships, who are majoring in full time stem related programmes funded by the university grants committee (ugc). Both local and non local undergraduates and postgraduates majoring in full time eligible stem related programmes offered by the participating universities, including their gba campuses, are eligible. The innovation and technology commission (itc) has set up the stem internship scheme (“scheme”) to encourage stem students to gain innovation and technology (i&t) related work experience during their studies and to foster their interest in pursuing a career in i&t after graduation, so as to enlarge the local i&t talent pool. The scheme will cover both local and non local students (undergraduate & research postgraduate) enrolled in an eligible full time stem programme (refer to the guidelines) for undertaking innovation and technology related internships.
