For the fourth consecutive year, the paris peace forum gathers the most important players in global governance. Global citizen and the paris peace forum are convinced that their organizations, and citizens everywhere, have the power and duty to take action. we can all make a difference to achieve the world we want to live in, so that no one is left behind. In 2021, the paris peace forum will continue to put the global south at the heart of its actions by supporting nearly 30 projects targeting africa, south america, south asia and the middle east. First, meaningful engagement of civil society, technical experts, academics, and other stakeholders should be a component of initiatives from the very beginning. further, there are a variety of fora that have already put in the difficult work of establishing operating procedures and getting underway. Let us take special pains to ensure that women and youth, as well as civil society, are more actively engaged in this work going forward.
