International Science Council A merger of the international council for science (icsu) and the international social science council (issc) forges a new organisation – to be known as the international science council – to advance the creativity, rigour and relevance of science worldwide. The international science council (isc) is an international non governmental organization that unites scientific bodies at various levels across the social and natural sciences. [1]. To realize this vision, the council seeks to provide a powerful and credible global voice that is respected both in the international public domain and within the scientific community. it will use that voice at the international level to: defend the free and responsible practice of science. The isc’s vision is of science as a global public good. its mission is to be the global voice for science: a trusted voice that speaks for the value of all science, everywhere.
