TPU For AMS Is Not Supported By AMS? - Troubleshooting - Bambu Lab Community Forum You’ll have to use the external spool holder (the one in the back) for tpu. the ams doesn’t work with tpu, although i’ve seen some info that bambu is attempting to bring out a new tpu filament formula that would allow it to work with the ams. When loading new filament, if you select tpu, the ams should tell you it’s incompatible/unsupported. with a qr code to a list of all the posts of tpu causing issues.

AMS Troubleshooting Undocumented Step - Troubleshooting - Bambu Lab Community Forum As i’ve explained to others, there is some conflict being caused by the bambu studio software. once you’ve closed all of them and rebooted the printer, the conflict seemingly resolves itself. good luck and let me know if that did or didn’t work for you!. The ams instructions indicate that tpu is not supported. we do have the option of tpu for the third material configuration of ams at present, and this is unreasonable and we will remove in the later firmware. Usually, this problem occurs if the filament configuration profile is not installed in bambu studio. please make sure you are running the latest version of bambu studio, and install the configuration update when the prompt shows up. you can also enable the filament profile from the system filaments tab. thanks a lot. i tried, it works well. I believe the reason it’s not recommended is because tpu is elastic and will not work with the purging system that cuts the filament out.

What does the hardware have anything to do with the error message received? the x1c seems to be programmed to reject the use of the tpu for ams in the ams, meaning an intentional decision by bambulab on the backend. This is not a bug. you can choose to skip the blacklist check in the developer mode section of the software settings, which will allow you to select tpu material. however, this will almost certainly lead to hardware failures that require disassembly and repair. You can detach one of the tubes at the ams lite end (theres a 3d printed tool to help with this) and then connect it to the little connector near the rear spool holder. I have been using tpu for ams for printing rc car parts and have found it to be near indestructible including incredible layer adhesion, i have been printing suspension arms and even steering arm ends.
